A rep for Santana told TMZ that the legendary guitarist was at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas, when he suffered a medical emergency due to suspected dehydration.

Eyewitnesses told the outlet that the incident happened during a sound check, and the musician was taken out on a gurney before being put into an ambulance.

Santana was transported to a San Antonio hospital, where he remained under observation as of early Tuesday evening, according to his rep, who added that the star is "doing well".

Tuesday night's concert was cancelled as a result of the 10-time Grammy winner's health scare.

The music icon arrived in Texas after braving cold and rainy conditions at his concert in Albuquerque on Monday night.

Just hours before he was hospitalised, Santana posted on Facebook thanking his fans "for showing up with such beautiful energy and love in the cold and rain".

"Your warmth and passion lit up the night more than any spotlight ever could. It was truly an honour to share our heart's music with you," he wrote.

Santana is next scheduled to perform on Wednesday in Sugar Land, Texas, as part of his Oneness Tour 2025.
