Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the That's the Way Love Goes hitmaker posted a photo of the Jackson family matriarch with her son Jackie Jackson. Katherine and Jackie, 74, were both born on 4 May.

In the accompanying message, Janet described Katherine as a "gift beyond measure".

"A living testament to grace, strength, and love, turns 95 today," she wrote. "May God continue to wrap you in His kindness, filling each new day with joy, comfort, and the warmth of those who cherish you. You are a gift beyond measure, and my soul is forever grateful for you. I love you."

Additionally, Janet offered a shout-out to her brother Jackie.

"I'm so incredibly blessed to have you in my life! I love you dearly and I pray your special day is filled with joy & happiness!" the superstar praised.

While in his own post, Jackie noted he was "forever grateful" to Katherine.

"Happy Birthday to the most incredible woman I know - my beautiful mother and the matriarch of our family, Katherine Jackson," he commented. "There's no one I'd rather share my birthday with. Your strength, love, and wisdom have shaped who I am, and I'm forever grateful. Here's to many more celebrations together. Love you always."

Katherine and her husband Joe Jackson, who died at the age of 89 in 2018, had eight other children together, including Michael Jackson.

Formerly known as the King of Pop, Michael passed away at the age of 50 in 2009.
